After nearly six years, I've decided to change the name of this blog. I don't feel the need to 'strike back' any more. I started this blog as an angry rant after a terrible job interview left me feeling alone, disenfranchised...and let's face it...bitter. I'm not in the same place as I was then, and I need a new approach.
So now I'm just down to me...a.Gen X lifer and these are the stories of my life and how it goes. A place for all of my sometimes whimsical, sometimes pessimistic, and often downright emotionally purgative thoughts.
Fate has also stepped in through the guise of new co-worker who is a solidly Gen Y millennial. We have a lot of interaction over the differences in our experiences. It's helped me to see life through a different prism.
Although...being born in 1986, I thought for sure he would at least know one of my favorite songs from the year of his birth.
I mean after all, I am very well acquainted with "Sweet Home Alabama" which was number one in the year I made my entrance into the world. (Don't make me tell you, look it up)
So I gleefully mentioned "Something About You" by Level 42, to which he replied,
"Huh?"
We'll get there...
